Did you know that President William Howard Taft signed the US Labor Department into existence on March 4th, 1913?

For over 100 years, the Department of Labor (DOL) has ensured safe and healthy workplaces for workforces across the nation. No matter if you’re in healthcare, education, banking, or logistics, it’s critical to operate within the standard rules, regulations, policies, and best practices of your industry.

Megan's Maxims - Risky Business

Changing trends and industry landscapes make minimizing compliance risk an ongoing journey (one that’s lasted about 104 years), especially when making decisions involving every organization’s greatest asset – its employees.

Here are some Kronos approved application tips to help minimize compliance risk and safeguard your workforce and your organization as a whole:

  1. Regulate function access profiles to reduce any potential timekeeping errors and manager inconsistency
  2. Control managers’ access to pay codes that your Kronos system can calculate for you
  3. Limit managers’ access to their own timecards to prevent the possibility of less-than-honest activity
  4. Set up ALL employees to submit time off through Kronos to ensure accrual balances are automatically and accurately recorded for exempt employees once the time is used
