Last night, I attended the Let’s Get Ready Career Launch event at The NonProfit Center in Boston. Volunteers from the Greater Boston area came together to help students strengthen their resumes, improve their networking and interview skills, and consider which career paths they might like to pursue.

Let’s Get Ready helps nearly 10,000 students – many of which are the first in their families to embark on the higher-education journey – through the college application process including SAT preparation, admission counseling, and post-enrollment mentoring. Program services are peer-driven and delivered largely by volunteers who are working through college themselves.

Programs like Let’s Get Ready play such an important role in providing academically-driven students the guidance they need to secure successful futures. I had a wonderful time volunteering on behalf of Kronos and helping the students work through this major life transition. Hearing about their goals and ambitions was inspiring, and I felt excited to play even a small part in the story of their quest for bigger and better things.

Kronos is a strong believer in investing in young talent. Our internship opportunities provide real-world experience for college students, helping them to build their skills, their professional character, and their resumes. And interns encounter a dynamic mix of work and fun. There’s the Battle of the Interns (see the 2017 results), lunch and learns with Kronos leadership members, and opportunities to give back to the community. Not only do interns finish the program with an enhanced skill set, but they also gain a valuable network of peers.
