Implementing the Kronos scheduling system was a unique opportunity for BayCare Health System to embrace meaningful change. It was a catalyst to review processes and leverage innovative software to reduce the steps needed to create effective schedules.
Thanks to this new organizational tool, nurses can can spend less time on administrative tasks and more time delivering excellent patient care. Baycare is comprised of 10 hospitals, and has 17,500 employees. By automating their scheduling processes they were able to:
- Reduce schedule creation time from 8-12 hours per schedule period to 2 hours;
- Eliminate contract labor, saving $2M;
- Gain visibility to staffing information to adapt to the changing patient workload on a shift-to-shift basis.
