Kronos Retail Labor Index™ Shows Retail Hiring and Applications down in last month of 2009

The 68 retailers representing 27,034 distributed locations across the U.S. that make up the Kronos data sample recorded 46,892 hirings in December of 2009 (on a seasonally adjusted basis). This was a decrease of 5.10 percent from the seasonally adjusted figure for November 2009 of 49,412 and was 7.10 percent lower than the 50, 219 hirings in December of 2008.
