Workforce Institute Announces New Board of Advisors Members;
Unveils Research Focus for 2008
CHELMSFORD, Mass. Feb 26, 2008 The Workforce Institute at Kronos® Incorporated has added four new members to its board of advisors and announced its research focus for 2008. The Workforce Institute is a think tank dedicated to discovering and advancing best practices in managing the workforce.
The four new board members are:
- David Creelman Chief executive officer of Creelman Research where he helps HR leaders and CFOs to better measure and report on human capital. Creelman also does research and writing on a wide range of human capital issues.
- Fred Foulkes Director of the Human Resources Policy Institute and a professor of Organizational Behavior at Boston University School of Management.
- Steven Hunt, SPHR, Ph.D. Director of Business Transformation Services at SuccessFactors and author of the book Hiring Success (2007, Pfeiffer) on the applied use of staffing assessment methods.
- Mel Kleiman Consultant, speaker, author, and trainer who focuses on how best to recruit, select, and retain top-quality employees.
Creelman, Foulkes, Hunt, and Kleiman join six other respected thought leaders from academia and the corporate world who comprise the Workforce Institute board of advisors:
- Jared Bernstein, director, Living Standards Program, Economic Policy Institute
- Ruth Bramson, CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts
- Russell Klosk, management consultant, IBM Global Business Services Human Capital Management Consulting practice
- Tim Lett, founder and managing partner, Axsium Group
- Joyce Maroney, managing director of the Workforce Institute and senior director of solutions marketing at Kronos
- Debbie McGrath, founder and chief instigator, HR.com
In addition to announcing new board members, the Workforce Institute is also unveiling its research focus for 2008. The Workforce Institute will publish a series of whitepapers penned by various board members on the topic of "Building a Retention Strategy for Hourly Workers." Topics in this series will include, among others:
- "Sourcing for Retention"
- "Hiring for Retention"
- "On-boarding of Hourly Employees"
- "Public/Private Partnerships in Workforce Management"
- "Role of Technology as an Enabler of Best Practices"
