Kronos® Delivers Next Evolution of webTA
New features of workforce management solution to improve productivity of the federal workforce
CHELMSFORD, Mass., August 7, 2008 Faced with continued pressure to modernize workforce-related processes, more than 55 U.S. federal government agencies today rely on the webTA solution from Kronos® Incorporated for effective workforce management. U.S. federal organizations including the Agency for International Development; Department of Agriculture; Department of Commerce; Department of Homeland Security; Department of Housing and Urban Development; and the Smithsonian Institution use Kronos to automate time, attendance, and leave data entry processes.
Kronos' webTA solution helps federal agencies improve productivity by eliminating administrative tasks, reducing costs, and maximizing available data by integrating with human resources, payroll, and other reporting systems. Today Kronos added new capabilities to webTA to make its reporting, data entry, and mobile capabilities more efficient, user-friendly, and richer.
Kronos has enhanced webTA in three main ways:
webTA Smart Time enhanced speed, accuracy, and efficiency
To enable enhanced speed, convenience, and accuracy, Kronos introduced Smart Time, an advanced tool supporting the Human Resources Line of Business (HR LOB) initiative directing agencies to improve human resources processes to support the strategic management of human capital. Smart Time simplifies time entry, schedule creation, and error correction by automating many tasks that, in the past, could be time consuming, complex, and error prone. With Smart Time, employees have the option to enter timecard data in a time-in/time-out format. Employees can associate accounts and/or projects with each timecard entry.
A user-friendly interface allows the employee to view timecard transactions on a daily basis, easily navigating to each day of the pay period. Smart Time provides a feature that "suggests" timecard transactions based on the data entered. In addition to enhanced ease of use, Smart Time provides context-sensitive feedback to help employees, timekeepers, and HR administrators accomplish their tasks by monitoring, in real time, what they do in webTA. Smart Time makes this information available when and where they need it.
webTA Mobile improved capabilities
To support aggressive federal government mandates and agency productivity initiatives, Kronos launched webTA Mobile last year to provide federal workers with more control over their time entry and schedules from remote locations. In the latest version, webTA Mobile's capabilities have been extended to supervisors for reviewing consolidated time, attendance, and leave data in a single view from a BlackBerry or any Windows mobile device. Supervisors now have the ability to review and certify employee time cards and approve leave and premium pay requests from their mobile device. Through real-time alerts on their mobile devices, managers can prevent issues and unnecessary costs before payroll is generated.
webTA Reports advanced reporting for the federal workforce
Turning raw data into information for business decisions has been the key objective of webTA's reporting functions. Federal agencies are faced with the growing challenge of managing their environment under increased pressure for fiscal responsibility. To address this challenge, webTA's advanced reporting option provides a richer reporting experience through expanded export capabilities, greater levels of interactivity, and customized report authoring. Key features include ad-hoc report creation supporting charts and tables, advanced analytics reporting, a distributed reporting environment, and a reports depository. These features provide accurate and more timely information, enhancing the ability to manage the goals and missions of federal agencies.
"We combine cutting-edge technology and best practices in workforce management to support the unique needs of federal agencies," said Jeff Babcock, senior director of the Kronos federal division. "Over the years, Kronos customers have made significant progress to improve workforce processes through webTA to reduce costs and improve decision making and customer service. The latest features in webTA are geared toward making our solution even more simplified to support productivity efforts of our clients."
