Workforce Institute Radio Podcast: Employees, HR, and Managers on Different Pages When Asked What Matters Most for Workplace Culture

CHELMSFORD, Mass., March 21, 2016

What:

Joyce Maroney, director of The Workforce Institute at Kronos Incorporated, welcomes Dan Schawbel, founder of WorkplaceTrends.com and partner and research director at Future Workplace, on Workforce Institute Radio to discuss the interesting – and shocking – findings from the second study in the Employee Engagement Lifecycle Series: Who’s the Boss of Workplace Culture?

The Workforce Institute surveyed HR professionals, people managers, and non-manager employees separately to gather each group’s thoughts on what makes or breaks workplace culture. The results were analyzed to see if HR, managers, and employees are on the same page when it comes to building a great culture. They are not. Topics tackled on the podcast include:

  • Are HR professionals and managers really that disconnected from employees in the workplace? If so, why;
  • The influence that Millennials are having on workplace culture, considering 40 percent of Millennial employees say it’s the employees who define culture;
  • What is behind the reported increased pressure on human resources to build a strong culture today compared with a decade ago;
  • The single worst thing an organization can do to destroy its culture; and
  • One simple place organizations can start to get employees, HR, and management on the same page regardless of size, budget, or industry.
