Kronos® Incorporated senior director Gregg Gordon will present a session on applying Lean principles to the workforce at the annual OpsInsight Leadership Forum. In this session, Gordon will elaborate on how this approach can drive innovation and productivity in manufacturing. In addition, Gordon will discuss how the workforce can be used as a competitive differentiator when manufacturers everywhere have access to the same raw materials and technology.

When:
Thursday, April 28, 2011, Michelangelo A room, 10:50–11:35 a.m. EDT
Where:
Hyatt Harborside, Boston
Why:
In the face of growing global competition, manufacturers are looking to maintain high levels of productivity while finding innovative ways to increase output. Through his many visits to manufacturing facilities across the world, Gordon was inspired to create a roadmap to help manufacturing managers and executives more easily manage the workforce and subsequently improve productivity. Gordon's soon-to-be-released book, Lean Labor, provides a guideline to help identify the waste in labor while sustaining the gains. In this book, Gordon also provides examples of manufacturers that use Lean principles to manage their labor, and he will address those case studies in the session as well.
