Kronos Appoints James Welch to Lead Products and Technology
CHELMSFORD, Mass., Aug. 14, 2012 — Kronos Incorporated today announced the appointment of James (Jim) Welch as chief product officer. In this role reporting to Kronos chief executive officer Aron Ain, Welch is responsible for driving Kronos' global product development organization and strategy.

- Welch's product development expertise is broad and global in scope. He led the worldwide product development organization for IBM's information platform and solutions business where he oversaw a 1,100-person global organization across 14 locations in eight countries, with responsibility for six distinct product groups. His success in this capacity led to him assuming the role of vice president and general manager of IBM InfoSphere, a high-growth software business recognized by industry influencers as the vision and execution leader in its market category.
- In addition, Welch brings to Kronos product operations leadership expertise from positions held with Ascential Software, Intellution, and most recently, at Opera Solutions and Marathon Technologies.
- Welch holds a master's degree in business administration from Bentley College and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
