Charleston County School District Deploys Workforce Management Solutions in the Kronos Cloud
CHELMSFORD,Mass., Feb. 2, 2015— The second-largest school district in SouthCarolina – Charleston County – recently selectedKronos Incorporated workforcemanagement solutions for deployment in the Kronos Cloud. Kronos solutions will be used by more than 6,000employees across 84 schools and other specialized programs. As the schooldistrict continues to grow, Kronos will enable it to make more effective,data-driven labor decisions, helping optimize budgets and further enhance thequality of the education offered. Also Kronos will help ensure that employeesare paid accurately and fairly for the time worked.
- Charleston County school district selected Kronos timeand attendance and absence management solutions, as well as mobile applications.And the school district chose to deploy the solutions in the Kronos Cloud toachieve a faster return on investment through expedited implementation and to leverageKronos expertise to manage, scale, and upgrade applications. Deploying in the KronosCloud will also free up time for the school district’s IT staff members so theycan be re-assigned to other priorities.
- TheKronos workforce management solution replaces previous error-prone and time-consumingmanual processes, which limited the transparency of overtime pay and createddifficulties in payroll forecasting. The primary objective of replacing the organization’slegacy system with Kronos was to compensate employees accurately for hoursworked while maximizing efficiency.
- Introduction of an automated time and attendance solution integrated with the district’s payroll and HR system will ultimately help improve the overall management of overtime, accruals, and compliance with state, federal, and union laws. Through complete automation and standardization of key processes with Kronos, Charleston County school district will now be able to set and track schedules and work rules more accurately. Also by removing manual processes to track, calculate, and accrue absence- and leave-related information, Kronos will help minimize unexpected expenditures and confirm the applications of fair time off and leave processes.
- Kronos was selected after a thorough evaluation of competing solutions and was chosen for the solution’s unique combination of rich functionality and ease of use.
