Müller Dairy (UK) Ltd selects Kronos workforce management solution
2nd May 2007 Müller Dairy (UK) Ltd has selected Kronos Workforce Central™ to manage employee time and attendance at its Market Drayton site where the UK’s best selling yogurt is manufactured. Kronos will replace Müller’s existing DCS System and will be used to reduce payroll administration, manage staff timekeeping, schedules, holidays, and the Working Time Directive. Müller operates a lean manufacturing process which it envisages Kronos will contribute to in the form of shift planning and production planning, once the system is fully operational. The Kronos system is due to go live in October 2007.
The manual nature of the payroll process was time consuming for the Müller team and posting the payroll file to the payroll system and then onto the financial system further complicated the process. Müller was keen to strip out this additional administration time by implementing a system that would automate this procedure. Paul Foden IT Business Analyst, Müller Dairy (UK) Ltd explains: ‘Our DCS system had served us well but it was time to upgrade to a system that would be able to cope with our large end-user needs, monitor attendance on site and record holiday and sickness balances. Kronos offers us a good fit for our extensive requirements and it is reassuring that the company is also an SAP preferred partner with a proven track record.’
Müller Dairy (UK) Ltd expects to see a number of benefits from the Kronos implementation, explains Paul Foden: ‘We anticipate that the Kronos system will provide us with a universal tool that can be used by everyone to manage accurate shift planning for both permanent and contract staff, record accurate labour hours and trace, track and manage absence levels’. He continues: ‘We want to be able to remove the unnecessary level of manual administration from our payroll team to allow them to make best use of their skills as payroll professionals.’
