Software Training Support Program for Kronos Customers

Kronos offers a training program designed to enhance the Windows 98 and Windows 2000 computer skills of our customers. To facilitate the training required, as well as the many locations and various training needs of our customers, Kronos has partnered with CompUSA to provide training on local, regional, and national levels. Special pricing has been negotiated for Kronos customers.

To meet the diverse needs of Kronos' many customers, an effective training program requires consistency but must also be flexible to adjust to the particular challenges specific to Kronos' customers.

Kronos and CompUSA are pleased to offer four options for Windows 98 and Windows 2000 classes. These four classes and many more are offered at over 180 CompUSA Training SuperCenters conveniently located near you.

Windows 98 Introduction
Introduces the Windows 98 operating system to those who know computer basics but are new to Windows 98. Topics include understanding Windows 98; working with the desktop; understanding, using and customizing the taskbar; creating shortcuts; starting and managing and renaming files and folders; using Web-style content; and working with documents.
Prerequisites: None ( 6 1/2 hours / 1 day )


Windows 98 Selected Features and Internet Options
Students will learn the advanced features on Windows 98, including its Internet-related features. Topics include customizing the user interface, including modifying the start menu and customizing the taskbar; using a password-protected screen saver; file maintenance with protecting data and managing file associations; managing print jobs; increasing disk-drive space and increasing disk speed. You will also learn how to optimize system performance; access the Internet, including subscribing to channels and adding active content and working with favorites; and Internet tools, including creating a Web page and setting properties.
Prerequisites: Windows 98 Introduction and Internet Explorer 4.0: Introduction or equivalent knowledge. ( 6 1/2 hours / 1 day )


Windows 2000 Level 1
This course will cover the basics of the Windows 2000 operating system. Students will learn to open file folders and files, create new folders, navigate their computers, open and use Windows Accessories, and customize their computers appearance by changing backgrounds, effects and settings, and by applying Active Desktop items. You will also learn to open files using Internet Explorer, and to locate help using the Index and search cards in Help.
Prerequisites: None ( 6 1/2 hours / 1 day )


Windows 2000 new Features
Explores many of the new features added to Windows 2000. Discusses modifying the Start menu, using keyboard navigation commands, examining the My Network Places folder and the My Pictures folder, using the Task Manager and using an on-screen keyboard and narrator. You will also look at computer management, program dialog box, and understanding security features.
Prerequisites: Windows 2000 Level 1 ( 3 hours )
