How Workforce Management Solutions Aid in Fair Labor Standards Act Compliance

By American Payroll Association
Sponsored by Kronos Incorporated
Published August 2004

The U.S. Department of Labor made important changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that went into effect on August 23, 2004. In February 2004, the American Payroll Association (APA) conducted a survey to gauge its members’ perceptions of the current FLSA regulations and their familiarity with the then proposed changes to it. This paper highlights the results of that survey. In addition, it discusses a variety of common disputes that arise with respect to FLSA and how automated workforce management solutions can lessen the burden of compliance with FLSA.

Key paper topics include:

  • Challenges of FLSA compliance
  • APA FLSA compliance survey highlights
  • Benefits of a workforce management solution
