Anchor Blue Selects Kronos for Retail to Manage Growing Workforce

Retailer to reduce labor costs, improve employee satisfaction, and increase customer service through a standardized solution

NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2007 — In support of its aggressive plans for growth, Anchor Blue recognized it must have a centralized and standardized approach to managing its workforce. Based on this need, the retailer has selected Kronos for Retail from Kronos® Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON). Anchor Blue will use Kronos for Retail to reduce labor costs, improve employee satisfaction, and increase customer service. The Kronos solution also will allow the retailer to continue to build upon its mission of being a great place to work and shop.

"We expect to continue to grow our store base, and therefore have significantly more stores within a few years," explained Michael Bush, CEO of Anchor Blue. "As a result, we knew we had to select a vendor that has a proven expertise in managing the workforces of rapidly expanding retail businesses. Selecting a vendor that also has a long track record of implementing solutions on time and on budget was a top priority. These factors made Kronos the clear choice."

Success through standardization

Anchor Blue's rapid growth made it difficult for the retailer to manage workforce-related functions such as time and labor, scheduling, payroll processing, and absence management. With Kronos for Retail, the retailer will be able to centralize and standardize these functions across current and future stores. Anchor Blue will automate the error-prone processes associated with tracking employee time and attendance and applying complex pay policies as well as the administration and enforcement of its complex employee attendance policies. In addition, with Kronos for Retail, Anchor Blue will gain the ability to create optimized schedules that balance the needs of its business, customers, and employees.

"Anchor Blue has a laser focus on implementing technology that allows them to respond to the changing demands of their customers," said John Anderson, director of retail at Kronos. "With Kronos for Retail to manage their ever-growing workforce, they will be able to reach new levels of success. Our solution will allow them to not only improve employee satisfaction and retention, but also increase the level of service they deliver to their consumers."

Kronos made this announcement from NRF 97th Annual Convention & Expo being held in New York from Jan. 14-16. Kronos is exhibiting in booth #1355.
